SOLAR TECHNOLOGY (PV) - AIR CONDITIONING - BASIC
12 Semesters Credit Hrs / 360 Clock hrs
5-hour days = 16 weeks Prerequisites: None
DESCRIPTION: The Air Conditioning and Electrical system Technology prepare graduates for many occupations in the Air Conditioning and Electrical fields. Graduates find employment with residential and large commercial heating and air conditioning contractors, parts and equipment distributors.
OBJECTIVES: This course teaches the students the fundamental of Renewable Energy, Air Conditioning and Electrical systems which will enable them to demonstrate knowledge and application of Air Conditioning systems and application of key solar electric system terms and concepts, Size & design a simple photovoltaic system, Define basic electrical terms and calculate simple circuit values, Define and demonstrate solar energy fundamentals.

SOLAR TECHNOLOGY, AIR CONDITIONING AND ELECTRIAL SYSTEMS - ADVANCED
25 Semesters Credit Hrs / 750 Clock hrs
5-hour days = 32 weeks Prerequisites: None
DESCRIPTION: The Advanced course covers the advanced functions of Air Conditioning, Electrical and Solar Technology. The Air Conditioning, Electrical and Solar Technology program will prepare the graduates for a wide variety of occupations in the 150 billion dollar mechanical and green technology fields. Green Technology and solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, modules, and system components; electrical circuits; PV system design and sizing for use on homes; solar electric products and applications; and understanding energy conversion from sunlight to electricity, and working with solar conversion equipment.
OBJECTIVES: The large increase in new high-rise buildings and real estate development within all major cities is a clear indication of the rapid increase in job market opportunities available. Also many of the graduates find employment with equipment manufacturers in research and development. Today’s society is demanding more emphasis on the ethical, legal and regulatory requirements relating to environmental concerns that are facing the HVAC industry today and in the future.

AIR-CONDITIONING, SOLAR ENERGY, ELECTRICAL AND REFRIGERATION SPECIALIST (HVAC)
33 Semesters Credit Hrs / 990 Clock hrs
5-hour days = 42 weeks Prerequisites: None
DESCRIPTION: Today’s society is demanding more emphasis on the ethical, legal and regulatory requirements relating to environmental concerns that are facing the HVAC and Green Technology industry today and in the future. The Air Conditioning, Electrical, Refrigeration and Green Technology program will prepare the graduates for a wide variety of occupations in the 150 billion dollar mechanical and green technology fields. Green Technology and solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, modules, and system components; electrical circuits; PV system design and sizing for use on homes; solar electric products and applications; and understanding energy conversion from sunlight to electricity, and working with solar conversion equipment. The students will learn the basic Electrical systems and prepare to take the EPA Certification and North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Photovoltaic (PV) Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge Exams.
