ABCI
History
American
Business College Intl. (ABCi) started in 1986 in San
Jose, California to serve the diverse population of
Silicon Valley. Currently ABCi has many locations in
California as well as International Colleges abroad.
ABCi wants to give all its students hands-on training,
to make them employable in the shortest possible time.
ABCi prides itself in training individuals for
high demand occupations to fulfill their needs of
long-term employment. Utilizing comprehensive programs
and the latest in educational technology, ABCi has been
able to make great strides in an ever-changing labor
market.
An individual entering the computer field may begin
employment as a Network Technician, Computer Repair
Technician, Administrative Assistant, Secretary, Desktop
Publisher, Payroll Staff, Data Entry Operator, Word
Processing Operator, Bookkeeper, Accountant, Executive
Secretary, Customer Service Rep., Receptionist, Office
Manager and the list goes on and on. With knowledge and
experience, supervisory and management positions may be
obtained. In summary, it can be concluded that
individuals with a solid background in Computer field
obtain well-paying professional jobs in all levels of
the industry.

Technology for Success
The "computer revolution", which will strike full force
in the 21st century, will create an insatiable demand
for computer specialists. The job market for individuals
with computer skills and solid business knowledge is
growing rapidly. Today’s job market requires individuals
to have computer skills and solid business knowledge.
In today’s industry, computer manufacturers serve the
needs of the global economy. Therefore, it is important
to have knowledge of several different computers and
their applications, so that employment and promotion
opportunities are readily available.
Among
the most commonly used computers are the IBM Personal
Computers and APPLE Computers.
The most commonly used software packages are in the area
of Office management, Word-processing, Internet,
Computer Graphics, Spreadsheet, Database, Multimedia,
DOS, Desktop Publishing, Windows, LAN, Networking and
Accounting Applications. Each of these packages is
developed to solve specific problems in different
environments. In addition to the knowledge of computer
applications, computer specialists must have a good
command of the English language and be able to speak and
write clearly. This is required in order for computer
specialists to communicate effectively with managers,
computer users and operators.

Mission Statement
The Mission of American Business College Intl. (ABCi) is to setup a solid partnership with it’s students to
use computer technology and the highest quality of
education to meet the students continuing education and
training need to enable the students to be an asset to
their future employers.

Objectives
ABCi’s facilities and teaching methods simulate
actual work conditions. This method provides trainees
not only with the knowledge required for their
chosen occupations, but also with the proper work
attitudes and behavior patterns. Initiative,
punctuality and cooperation are emphasized.
Most
of the participant's training is hands-on, utilizing
equipment similar to that which is in use by industry.
This individualized training requires small class sizes
and ABCi maintains an instructor to student ratio of 1
instructor to 15 students and computer to student ratio
of one computer per student.
